This Froddahm Woods circuit crosses the former Frodsham golf course which has been taken over by The Woodland Trust to ‘rewild’ and add to their existing woodlands on the Sandstone Ridge.

2 dogs allowed
We follow the Sandstone trail along the ridge to a viewpoint over looking Helsby Hill and the Mersey, turn up to Snidley Moor Wood and across to Woodhouse Hill Wood. We then descend steeply off the ridge to follow the footpath along the bottom of the woods until reaching the outskirts of Frodsham, walk back up to the ridge and the war memorial with panoramic views west across to Liverpool. The last section of the walk takes us past Beacon Hill with more panoramic views across to the east, the Cheshire Plain Peak District.
