A lovely walk for a summers day taking in Whitgate village and the River Weaver.

This circular walk starts on the Whitegate Way at the old Whitegate Station.
We leave the station on the Whitegate Way and walk East before we leave the path and travel North along footpaths and minor roads to the village of Whitegate where we will have coffee by the church. From Whitegate we walk East across the Vale Royal golf club and open countryside to the Vale Royal Locks .
Our return journey follows the River Weaver before we re-enter the golf course and skirt Whitegate village.
We follow a footpath along the Pettypool Brook rejoin the Whitegate Way then we make our way back to the carpark.
Tea and cakes are available at the Station Café.

If you become detached from the group STOP, call out; try contacting group by phone or text. If no contact return to the last place you were with the group. Wait 30 mins repeatedly trying to make contact. After 30 mins seek help and/or make your own way safely.
