A pleasant walk on mainly fields woodland and paths, with a couple of short stretches on relatively quiet roads. The view from the Wrekin Trg point is 360 degrees with views of the Welsh Hills and Shropshire Hills most prominent. Fingers crossed for a clear day!!

When we leave the car park we walk NE towards the motorway before we turn S/SW through the golf course. We continue to follow the footpath as we skirt around the base of the Wrekin Hill through woodland and open farmland. When we reach the edge of Wenlock Wood, we ascend into Spout Lane Plantation and make our way towards the base of Little Hill. The climb up Little Hill and Needle’s Eye leading us to the trig point and the hill fort is steep. There are loose stones underfoot which can be slippery. At the summit there is a spectacular 360-degree view on a good day. The descent is gradual until we meet Lawrence Hill and The Ercall where we climb again to the car park.
