From the car park we walk briefly north then pick up a good track tending NE then E for about 3 km with views over fields with stone walls and copses of Scots Pine and Oak. We now ascend and head west to make the summit of Conwy Mountain. Evidence of a hill fort dating back to 1000BC can be seen.
We descend over rough rocky ground then head NW to the rocky summit of Penmaen-bach. This is a great spot to look down to Conwy Bay and across to Anglesey. A steep descent SW followed by a steep ascent brings us to the top of Alltwen with again grand views.
A steep descent brings us back down to our cars.
The walk is short for a Blue but involves some steep though short ascents/descents with occasional easy scrambling.
