No dogs allowed

From the parking area we enter the quarry and climb steadily towards the old workings, where we then leave the good track and ascend steeply on old quarry tracks/roads, passing disused workings and inclines. Leaving the quarry track we ascend steeply to a road which leads to the surge pond for the Hydro Electric Scheme, crossing the road and ascending to Elidir Fach.

We then climb Elidir Fawr which has a rocky ridge which will require a bit of scrambling. Descending to the south side on the route for the ‘welsh three thousands’, we follow a path down to a bridge over Cwm/Afon Dudodyn then to a minor road. There are a few boggy bits.

Heading NW we head towards the quarry returning to the cars.
