Blakemere Circular

This is a circular walk around Pale Heights and Blakemere Moss
Green Walk
Sunday 10 May 2026

2 dogs allowed

We start at the car park in Yeld lane and then walk towards Delamere forest. We climb up to Pale Heights and hopefully will have great views across the Manchester sky line, Merseyside and the mountains of North Wales.

The stone markers point the direction of 7 counties Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire. Shropshire and Staffordshire in England and Denbighshire and Flintshire in North Wales.

From here we walk along forest trails, to Blakemere Moss and walk approximately 5km around the lake in a circular direction. Blakemere Moss is a scenic 33 hectare reclaimed wetland and lake which is very popular with birdwatchers.

We leave the lake at its western edge and join the Sandstone trail path past Eddisbury Lodge and through Nettleford Wood to return to the cars.
