A Wander from Mouldsworth

This walk will be a gentle green social wander along road and across fields with the opportunity for lunch/snack at The Goshawk - Mouldsworth.

Green Social

Wednesday 15 April 2026

2 dogs allowed

Starting from The Goshawk we walk along Station Road towards Manley turning at the first junction on the left into Chapel Lane and then on to Manley Lane (Manley Lane has no pavement but is a quiet lane). After a while the lane starts to descend, we walk under the bridge of a disused railway line and almost immediately turn left into fields. In the second field we will take a break.

We continue across fields crossing Nortons Lane, then passing Chapelwood Farm Livery. We cross a small claggy field and a bit later the railway line. We proceed past Swinfordmill Farm before turning east heading towards Peel Hall. Along the next section we will take a second break.

After Pell Hall we cross Gongar Lane and follow the path behind Ashton Church until we reach the Ashton-Mouldsworth road. We follow the road and up the short hill to The Goshawk.

The lunch reservation at The Goshawk is booked for 13:00.

Join the relevant OHWC Community Group to book the walk and/or lunch. When joining the group please state if you are walking or lunching or both.

Lunch orders to be posted in the Group by Sunday 13th April. Lunch payment is on the day. Once you have ordered you are liable for payment.
