We begin the walk by climbing steadily up and along the Offa’s Dyke path. Twenty or so minutes later we reach open countryside with lovely views over much of Shropshire. After dropping down across fields to a quiet lane we head in a westerly direction, walking steadily uphill, passing through woodland and eventually down to a farm. Here we pick up the Llwybr Ceiriog Trail and head northward across open ground until we meet more woodland. Shortly after, we start a gradual descent which takes us to a single-track lane where we continue with a further steep descent affording beautiful views of Pontfadog and the Ceiriog Valley. Next, we head off easterly, down and across fields passing a few farms before reaching the edge of the woods at Llangwryd-isaf. After passing through verdant mixed woods, we take another small lane that leads us once again to the Offa’s Dyke Path and back to the start.
