A circular, varied walk with industrial heritage, forest and open land
Blue
18 August 2024
No dogs allowed
From the Minera Mines CP we find our way out, up through woodland/farmland and onto open land and up Esclusham Mountain passing an old mine. This ‘mountain’ is 456m hign and the climb is a steady 230m over 2km.
We descend, then follow the road for a short while before joining Offa’s Dyke path into Llandegla forest (you may see black grouse), then using forest tracks/trails to the reservoir and visitor centre (ice cream option if hot!)
Leaving the visitor centre, then through fields/open land, past the old quarry, through the old mine workings and back along a dismantled railway
