Starting from Beacon Hill car park, we head SE down the lane before turning N round Beacon Hill towards Overton. The route then goes round the cliff-top war memorial, remaining on the top of the cliffs until we descend to the lower path heading SW towards Foxhill, where we skirt the Arboretum and join another lane SE round the base of the hill. We turn N towards Woodhouse Hill, skirting the site of the hill fort there, and follow the path to the common and back to Beacon Hill.
