Green Charity Walk

An easy green walk from Ian and Paula’s home in Utkinton to prepare us for our annual charity picnic.
Green Walk
Sunday 12 July 2026

No dogs allowed

The route takes us along a quiet road through Utkinton village to our first footpath which leads us to the Sandstone Trail. There are some beautiful views of the Cheshire plain from this high path. Eventually we reach the road which passes through the village Fisher’s Green then past Utkinton Hall. This was the seat of the Done Family; a wealthy family who were once hereditary warders of Delamere Forest.
The final footpath climbs up behind Rose Farm to Utkinton School and a hidden entrance to Paula and Ian’s beautiful garden.

Join the relevant OHWC Community Group to book the walk. Also, the Community Group for the Picnic if you are going to that as well.

Terrain:
Undulating open countryside, quiet country lanes, part of the Sandstone Trail. A couple of climbs and some rough, dry tracks where poles may be useful. Long trousers and sleeves are recommended as there are nettles and brambles. A couple of stiles.
