Harthill & Bulkeley Circular

An opportunity for a pleasant morning’s walk with little ascent but still providing wonderful views across Cheshire and on into Wales.

2 dogs allowed

The walk begins taking us down a path alongside the old primary school and then along the edge of fields and up into Bodnook Wood. We pass through these woods and then on to the woods leading to Raw Head. Here the the lower path is taken which contours around the side of Raw Head and yet still affords great views over towards Wales. We then travel down hill to cross a short field and onto a country lane crossing over the A534 and on towards Bickerton. On reaching the church we turn left taking us near Gallantry Bank. We continue on country lanes and paths and through further woods and on towards Bulkeley Hill. Having crossed over the Sandstone Trail we then follow tracks making our way back through Bodnook Wood and onto Harthill.

This walk has been designed to allow for a quick coffee only. For those who wish we can then make our way to The Pheasant in Burwardsley for refreshments/lunch. I’m hoping to reserve a table for 1.15pm.
If you would like to stay for refreshments after the walk or if you would just like to join us at The Pheasant let me know by joining the relevant OHWC Community Group to book the walk and/or lunch. When joining the group please state if you are walking or lunching or both. Lunch orders to be posted in the Group by Thursday 29th October.
NB. A £10 non-refundable deposit is required at The Pheasant. I will pay the deposits when making the booking, and you can repay me on the day.
