Loggerheads circular

A pleasant mid green walk that takes us along the Leete Path besides the River Alyn and circles back round Ffrith Mountain. The 2m wide leat was constructed in the 1820s to divert water from Loggerheads to power the lead mining activity.

2 dogs allowed

From the car park we head north crossing the bridge over the River Alyn, and then walk alongside the river on the leat through the Alyn Valley. We leave the river turning west along the road with a short sharp climb before striking off along a footpath to Pentre. At Pentre we turn south heading, with a steady climb, towards Ffrith, skirting Ffrith Mountain and on to Brithdir Bach. We cross a bridge over a stream, turn east along a track, then a road back to Loggerheads and a chance for refreshments at Caffi Florence.
